Founded in 2024, Equilibrium is a consulting agency specializing in conflict resolution, teambuilding, and organizational improvement. Our mission is to equip individuals and businesses with the tools and support they need to create happy, productive workplaces.

Equilibrium provides support to organizations through a variety of services tailored to fit specific organizational needs. We offer trainings and workshops to educate groups on how to better resolve conflict, improve and expand communication skills, or build organizational capacity. We offer mediations and facilitated dialogues to resolve both acute and longstanding conflicts. Lastly, Equilibrium offers strategic planning, program development, and climate assessments as larger-scale consulting projects to reset workplace cultures, address team-wide dysfunctions, and proactively reduce the opportunity for future conflict. CONSULTING SERVICES
MEDIATION
Equilibrium Consulting offers full service mediations for individuals or groups experiencing unresolved conflict. A trained mediator can help improve communication, build trust, and repair damaged relationships. Equilibrium Consulting serves as a great resource for HR departments looking for a neutral third-party to help settle disputes between colleagues.
FACILITATED DIALOGUE
Have a group or team that is struggling to connect and work well together? This may be a good fit for a facilitated group dialogue, where teams can discuss concerns and regain group cohesion. Facilitated dialogues are less formal than mediations and can support individuals and teams by offering a safe space to talk through problems.
TRAININGS & WORKSHOPS
Equilibrium Consulting offers a suite of trainings and workshops in the areas of conflict resolution, team building skills, and organizational improvement. We can work with your organization on providing a customized training or workshop to fit your prorgamming needs.
STRATEGIC PLANNING
Looking for expert advice? Equilibrium's consulting services can help leaders and/or HR professionals work through people planning, organizational change, and culture shifts to improve the workplace climate.
PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT
Conflict in the workplace is inevitable, yet most workplaces are ill-equipped to support their employees through these challenges. This often leads to resignations, "quiet-quitting", or dysfunctional teams. Equilibrium can help you build a customized dispute resolution program to address workplace conflicts so that employees can refocus on the work.
CLIMATE ASSESSMENTS
Climate assessments are useful when teams are experiencing high levels of conflict or dysfunction. A climate assessment can diagnose the problem and the sources of dysfunction, and will provide recommendations for resolving issues and repairing damaged teams. Climate assessments may involve surveys, interviews, focus groups, and/or observations. Climate assessments are always personalized based on a team's needs.

​Founder and Chief Consultant, Samantha Smith, has over 10 years of experience in conflict resolution, employee relations, and DEI work. She has worked in both the private and public sectors, and has consulted for hospitals, colleges & universities, and corporations. She brings a balanced, calming approach and understands the complexities that often come with workplace conflict.
​
Samantha is a Chicago native with a Bachelor's in Communication and a Master's in Business Administration, both earned through the University of Illinois. She is a member of the business honors society, Beta Gamma Sigma. She became a certified mediator through Northwestern University in 2020 and is also trained in interpersonal dialogue, restorative justice, and workplace investigations.

She is an expert in resolving conflict and promoting peaceful, collaborative working environments.
